These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Every morning I read aloud a picture book and students discuss character traits, content connections, and the theme displayed through academic discussions. Using Storyworks magazines in reading groups will help learners engage in exciting text while working on the the necessary skills throughout the year. The magazines are always a great tool to show students the why in what we are learning. I am excited to use both ELA and Science scholastic news/story works. When a student can't wait to read---I know the interest is there! I will use the laminating sheets to highlight their connections to their text and display in the classroom. Being at a Title I school, I have seen the power of literature in the hands of readers and future leaders! Every donation makes an impact in our classrooms. I have seen the interest of non readers grow by using these resources and I can't wait to start with this new group of 3rd graders this next year!
