Throughout their elementary music careers, my students are given several opportunities to create and perform music. We use unpitched and pitched percussion instruments, including drums, rhythm sticks, boomwhackers and xylophones, just to name a few. Adding ukuleles to the music room will enable students to add another layer of performance. It will add melodic and rhythmic elements as well as training their musical listening skills. With these instruments they will be able to play and sing songs. This amazing project will bring joy this school year and many more years to come.
