Students will always have the option of sitting on their cushion at their desk, as student classroom chairs can be uncomfortable. They can easily take their cushion to preferred or suggested floor locations to partner read or other activities. My students are motivated to complete projects when they have flexibility and choices for their work spots. Students always ask if they "have to" work at their desks. Our classroom floors are tile on not great for sitting and reading or writing. The floor cushions will give the students a comfortable workplace that is inviting, flexible, and potable.
