Learning is a great process that helps us grow and acquire new knowledge and skills. Hands-on learning is a better way to spark curiosity and encourages students to observe, ask questions and problem solve.
All children need hands on activities in science to allow them make discoveries on their own. The benefits are infinite and one of them that is very valuable is critical thinking.
I want my students to have a chance to develop such critical thinking skills in our science lessons because that will lead them to acquire the scientific and engineering processes in an organic way. To be able to reach this goal, I need your help in getting the Smithsonian Science for the Classroom curriculum.
I believe that my students will benefit from these hands-on science activities because they will not only develop their ability to learn but also it will encourage them to interact with one another. The pandemic limited our kids' interactions.
Being able to have leaning activities that can prompt them to work together will help with their well being and the development of social emotional skills.
