Through different career modules, students experience skills for their futures. My classroom is home to 20 different career modules. Students choose career paths to explore and delve into what it takes to be a professional in that area. The students watch videos and tutorials to gain background knowledge. Then they complete hands-on tasks. Some of the tasks build upon each other to complete a larger project. An example of this would be learning and applying knowledge about anchor bolts, wall building, framing a window and door, and roof trusses to build a small house. Other tasks are independent of each other but still professional tasks. For example, some students experience creating business plans, landing a plane, inserting an IV, and virtually welding joints. By donating, you would provide seventh-graders with a vision of their future. Many seventh graders don't have the opportunity to see what it is like in different career areas. How will they choose a path when they have no way to see what their future could entail?
