These materials will help me build my classroom library for my students to grow in reading, vocabulary, and writing. My main goal for my classroom library is to expose my students to different types of books (manga, chapter books, series, picture books, comics, etc.) and to bring out their love for reading. As a kid, I never had a classroom library and was only allowed to read chapter books. I want each student to find what they love to read and to flourish in this classroom. I added flexible seating for my students who need a break from their typical seats. I want them to enjoy coming to class and to feel comfortable while they work/read. Flexible seating has a lot of research done on it to support its effectiveness in the classroom. The last item I added was the writing process folders. I want my students to use these all year so that the writing process becomes a habit for them. Writing is extremely important, not only in school, but in life. Teaching them the writing process is critical for their growth in writing. My goal is to set my students up for a bright future!
