The demographic of students that I teach are ones that frequently don’t get their needs met. I am opening up flexible seating options for the first time this year in the hopes of meeting some of those needs. I have managed to DIY many seating options for my classroom, and many more have been so graciously donated. They now need hard surfaces that they can utilize around the room. I would also love to add a couple stability balls to their options. These seating options offer more than just a change of pace. It offers them freedom and responsibility for themselves that they don’t otherwise have offered to them. My hope is that it also aids in increasing focus and lessens behavioral distractions.
