In our classroom, we practice all sorts of skills from reading, writing, mathematics, friendship, self-regulation, and leadership. Having these materials will allow students to have hands-on experience working with their peers to share, compromise, problem solve, and grow as leaders. My students will walk into our classroom with options as to how they would like to start their day by having the choice of which activity whether it be legos, alphabots, or another toy that interests them. Students then will start their day with something they love and practice sharing, communicating, and building friendships with their peers, providing a safe welcoming place in the classroom.
