In the 21st century classroom, things are different. Gone are the days of sitting at your single desk on a wooden chair. Today, educators realize that students learn in a multitude of ways, and not all success happens at a traditional desk. While one child may enjoy the upright seating at a personal desk, others are more productive in alternative seating options on the floor, using a cushion, or lounging in a comfy chair. No matter the learning style, alternate seating supports independent and cooperative learning, allowing students to feel successful while comfy. A new classroom rug and alternative seating options will allow students to learn in a way that is comfortable to them.
