We do not have a library at our school and this leveled reading center will give my students the ability to choose a book on their reading level and learn to be independent in their reading. Practice is the key to reading well and this will give them the opportunity to do so. Also this will give them the learning opportunity to be responsible by checking a book out and checking it back in when they have completed the book. It also gives them a place to turn in their summaries of the book they just read.
