All students need to have access to books that provide them with a variety of perspectives on the world, but also reflect who they are. I am working to build a library of books for literature circles and our classroom library that helps students experience stories that connects them to their passions, hopes, and identity. The books for this project were selected by students. Students were very clear about what they wanted to see in our library and lit. circle selections for this year. Students will have access to the titles in our ongoing classroom library and during our lit. circle rounds during the year. The idea is to read and explore as many books as we can this year. Last year it was a challenge to get new books into the hands of my students, but this year we will make up for lost time.
