Research shows two things- kids learn better when they get time in nature and biodiversity on Earth is decreasing. We want to get our kids outside to garden, learn about dynamic ecosystems, learn how to grow their own food, and take action to support biodiversity, especially pollinators. At our school there is a dedicated space for a school garden and outdoor classroom, but it is currently a jungle of weeds and needs a lot of work. We want our kids to observe their world and make it better by transforming our weed jungle into a welcoming outdoor learning space! There are teachers and students excited to take action, but we need the right tools to get started.
