These reading and math center tools will allow students to better grasp the concepts being taught within our math and reading center stations. The donation of headphones will be used thoroughly within our technology station, as children listen to books or complete online math activities. Headphones are so helpful to help minimize background noises and keep students focused. This donation would be used by many students for years to come! In our reading groups, the use of abc magnetic letters will help us work on phonics and word work within reading to learn more about various letter sounds and word families. Students will also benefit from the use of blank whiteboards within our reading centers to help break down a difficult word or through Kagan strategies for interactive group reading games. The use of the math whiteboards will allow students to gain independence and problem solving skills by using various mathematical strategies (number line, ten frame, hundreds chart). The use of these whiteboards will allow students to quickly have each of these strategies at their fingertips within one overall math tool. These whiteboards can also be transported quickly throughout the classroom. The 120 number chart classroom set will be used within our math stations during the teacher table to help students visualize various number patterns. As a first year teacher, these resources are appreciated in creating my classroom environment and enhancing our reading and math centers. Thank you!
