There are many advantages to flexible seating. It allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. When students are working independently they are allowed to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. There are a variety of of choices throughout the room such as stools, different tables, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clip board. Ensuring that students are comfortable but also staying engaged during the day is important in their learning. Based on the research that has been conducted on flexible seating it is proven to enhance learning in reading, writing and mathematics. The variety of products that I have selected will allow my students to have additional seating options. The flexible seats and tables that I have chosen allow the students to adjust the height to their comfort. The flexible seats are lightweight and allow for plenty of movement. This will assist with some students that need to move at times without bothering others. Allowing students to have ownership in their seating will hopefully boost their confidence and willingness to learn while staying engaged.
