Young learners need opportunities to move throughout the day. Transitioning between desks and carpet is a great way to implement movement and give students ownership in the classroom space. When my students move from their desk to the carpet, they will feel not only a sense of community, but the safety that is necessary for an effective learning environment. While many people may just see it as a rug to sit on, my students will see it as so much more: a central part of their community and a safe space.

About my class
