I am starting at a new school this fall. I have a completely blank slate of a classroom, which is fantastic because I can make it my own. That being said, my classroom library is COMPLETELY EMPTY other than the handful of books I am bringing with me. Help me build an amazing classroom library! The books that I am requesting with this project are to provide an inclusive and equitable class library for my students. My goal is to have books that will spark the joy of reading for any and every learner regardless of interest or ability. As a literacy teacher, I strive to provide quality literature for my students through diverse authors, topics, and genres that match classroom makeup. Representation matters and I want my students to feel seen and heard through the book options on my classroom shelf. My hope is that these books will be a start to curating titles that are meaningful and impactful for my students.
