As a first-year teacher, I am excited to prepare my classroom for my students' arrival. I know this year will be unique as students return to a full classroom for the first time in over a year. With this in mind, my goal has been to make my students feel at home in our classroom. So many students have spent a lot of time in daycares, living rooms, and family members' houses during the school year. I want my students to have a sense of stability, and I think that can be achieved in the classroom. The rug will be the focal point of my classroom. I want each student to have a unique spot that is theirs for the school year. The chair sack is also something that when they come into the room, they know they have a space that belongs to them. I cannot control what happens next in the world, but for the time my kids are in OUR classroom, they can feel at ease.
