Science encourages curiosity and exploration while incorporating literacy and math. These supplies will give my third graders access to creatures they otherwise would not have the opportunity to observe. They will learn through hands-on activities, care for all of the living things and learn responsibility, and develop their writing and math skills through journaling. These students discovered a love for life science last year that gave struggling readers and writers a new and engaging path to follow and learn from. They discovered that math, reading, and writing could be interesting and fun along with being more than just what they saw in the curriculum books. Bringing real-world applications into the classroom brought a new level of excitement that I am hoping to continue this year.

About my class
