There is nothing more important to me as a teacher than to create a School Family in our classroom. From the way that I decorate the classroom to the way that I communicate with my students, teaching children to love each other and to be kind people is my biggest goal. More important than reading scores and math achievements, the way that my class loves each other is the thing that I am most proud of at the end of the year. I have carefully curated this list of books to offer my young students a way to learn about and celebrate our differences. There are books about race, diversity, equity, emotions and more. I also included multicultural crayons and markers so that my students can reflect their learning into their work. Social emotional learning and meaningful connections will be more important than ever in this upcoming school year! Thank you for supporting this project!
