Reading The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian will help students have access to more BIBOC voices. Students will find an authentic indigenous story told by and award-winning indigenous author, helping out under-represented BIPOC students see themselves in literature. Discussion of class, race, geography, history and their impact on individuals' dreams will bring rich conversation and exploration far beyond the novel. This novel will help us hone our skills and researchers, questioners and critical thinkers and we take on the many layers to Junior's story and all that his world brings to us.
