After several years of teaching, I have noticed that my scholars excel more and stay fully engaged with maximized organization to create an environment of productivity! My second grade classroom is not very large, and students are seated at tables that seat four with no attached storage. There are also no cubby organizers or lockers available to my scholars in our location. These materials will help tremendously with supply storage and organization which will ultimately equal productivity and engagement! One of my goals this year is to eliminate the constant up-down and distracting buzzzzz of a pencil sharpener by providing students with 1.3mm mechanical pencils. I know my scholars will enjoy them so much and be more engaged by having their own specific supplies with available storage right on the backs of their chairs. I can also see a huge elimination of clutter by using clear bins for books, journals, folders, etc. that are easy to carry around the room and store in our limited storage space.
