Towards the beginning of this school year, I created a project through Donors Choose to help me reward and incentivize my students for their good behavior and hard work in the classroom. Upon receiving these items, I worked out a system to do just that. Each Friday, our students who have shown consistent good behavior for the week are entered into a drawing to win something from the selection of prizes. These prizes include snacks, fidget toys, art supplies, and drinks.
We have seen a significant increase in positive student behaviors and habits since implementing the reward system.
Students are quick to correct any negative behaviors if they think it is about to cost them their spot in the prize lottery for the week. They have been so excited to be recognized for their hard work and I really hope to continue this reward system for them. I am asking for snacks, drinks, and lotions to build our prize pool back up so that I can continue celebrating the success of my wonderful students.
