On any given week, my art classroom is home to around seven hundred and thirty students. I see students from the ages of four years old to fifteen years old. These students attend our school in grades pre-k through eighth grade. Getting these new tables would be a dream come true for my students! The tables we currently have in our art room have chunks out of the top of the table that we have to work around. Sometimes, the legs will fold up under the table, causing the table to fall. When this happens, it often affects my students' artwork. Many of us have never thought about the impact of a single table in a classroom. However, to teachers and students, it is much more than just a simple table. It is a safe place to sit with our friends without getting splinters or worrying about it falling. It is a place to collaborate. It is a safe place to lay our heads when we are feeling overwhelmed. It is a place where laughter bellows and learning takes place. It is a place where the most amazing artwork is created. To us, it is much more than a table; it really is a dream come true.
