I strive to make the "speech room" a safe, calm, stress-free place for my students. Since many of the kids come to this room for several years, I get their feedback on what they enjoy (or would like to try). Some of my kids think the overhead fluorescent lights are too harsh and like to work with the lights off. Others want all of the lights on, all of the time. We thought light covers would be a great thing to try, as well as a great compromise! I also have lower-sugar snacks (and gum) on hand for when my students are hungry.

About my class
