Fluent readers are created with constant exposure to fluent reading and opportunities to identify words they are becoming familiar with in a real-world context. These tablets will increase students' desire to read as they select books they are interested in, can listen to the content, or practice their reading skills independently. These tablets will help students gain confidence in their reading abilities as they follow along with a reader. Students will be able to listen to stories that are above their reading level, increasing their exposure to fluent readers and providing opportunities and exposure to the high frequency words they are learning. Students will also have the opportunity to use the tablets to practice applying the skills that we are learning in other content areas. Students will be engaged through educational games and gain confidence in their ability to complete newly-learned skills.
