Among the countless professional development/continuing education offerings available for teachers nowadays, I am interested in this program in particular because of its focus on using social-emotional learning, movement, and mindfulness in the classroom to foster individual and collective well-being. I want to acquire every tool I can to teach my students about true self-care, how to identify, self-regulate, and process hard emotions, and ultimately, how to take care of themselves and their community. Thus, I am excited to grow my knowledge-base and skill-set in these areas and bring it with me to my classroom, my school's SEL committee, and to my district community as a whole.

About my class
