I am a Mild/Moderate Special Education teacher and most of my students have Mathematical Anxiety due to a lack of self-confidence in the legibility of their handwriting. These students who are often told they "cannot do it," to the point of being separated into another class (Special Day Class) entirely away from their peers "who can," by grade 4 is truly starting to affect them social-emotionally and they are beginning to believe that lie. It is my goal as a person and an educator to show these students that they are capable of doing everything their Gen Ed counterparts can do with the proper tools. I will use these iPads with ModMath App in teaching grade-level and Response To Intervention(RTI) Math to remove their anxiety of writing so that they may maximize their absorption of the mathematical concept being taught.
