Studies have proved that students who follow along during audiobook reading can improve their own reading fluency. Many of our students have large learning gaps in reading fluency and comprehension. Headphones will really give many students with learning disabilities the tools to listen to audiobooks during independent reading and practice skills that will enable them to become confident in their own learning. Headphones with a microphone will also enable our students to dictate their writing on digital software, and facilitate the writing process for them to focus on other specific writing skills.
