I am requesting literature that will help them broaden their horizons and connect with their language. We will be starting a new program at our high school called Spanish for Fluent Speakers. This program allows students who already know Spanish to further develop their knowledge as well as learn about historical and cultural aspects of Spanish, much how Language Arts does for English speakers. This is a brand new school, and a brand new program, so we will need to build a library for the SFS students to enjoy to include literature from many different Latin American authors, short stories, poetry, and non-fiction works. We are starting from scratch, so any donation you make will make a difference! Students will use these materials to further their knowledge of the Spanish language, gain insight into their culture, and find out about the history of Latin America. This gives students a powerful message, that their home language is important and matters.
