Upfront Magazine has current, high-interest stories that will keep my students engaged as we discuss how to analyze what they're reading, a skill they will need in the world. There are activities and prompts to work with which will improve my students' communication and writing skills. The skills my students learn through reading and discussing the Upfront articles and completing the activities will help them after they graduate. They will also keep up on current events that affect them and their communities as well as society and in some cases, the world. As they read about different issues, they can decide how they want to be involved in their futures.
