Because I have been out of the classroom, my classroom library is in desperate need of an update. My goal is for my classroom library to encourage my students to read outside of the classroom. In order to engage my students, I am introducing First Chapter Fridays. Each Friday I will read aloud the first chapter of a book from my classroom library. Students interested in the 1st chapter can finish the book. My project has 2 copies of each book, allowing more than one person interested in the book to be able to check out the book after the first chapter has been read.
