I am a first-year teacher with no rug for my classroom! Every other classroom has the use of beautiful big rugs for their students to be comfortable sitting on during lessons. I believe making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. The rug I have chosen is brightly colored squares divided into sections that will fit a first grader perfectly. By placing the rug in front of the Promethean Board, it will allow the students a comfortable space of their own, yet be able to turn and talk to their elbow partner when ideas are to be shared. In this past year when students had difficulty connecting with their peers due to Covid, this will allow the students the opportunity to reunite again. Your generous gift will help me reach my goal of having a motivational, comfortable space in which my students can adequately communicate with each other and work together in a harmonious atmosphere.
