My students need to learn the 21st century skills of teamwork, creativity, innovation, and compromise through the use of technology and real world problem solving skills. Students in my class like to build with Legos and design different modes of transportation. First Lego League Explore allows students to participate in the engineering process to build and code. In our after school club, students are given a real world problem that needs to be solved. The children work together to design, build, and program a robot. They then test the robot and learn to make adjustments to their design in order to solve the initial problem given. At the end of the season, students will participate in an expo to showcase their design and share their learning with other teams.
