Let me write about my wonderful and curious students. They are a group of twenty-five eager and ready to learn second graders. My students come from a Title 1 school, which means that they qualify for the 100% free lunch program. Approximately 85% of my students fall below the U.S. poverty line. My children are too young to understand this class status. My children see this world as their oyster. This class consists of risk takers and givers. They aren't afraid to do their best and try new things. Many of them surprise me on a daily basis, teaching me how to forgive and persevere. My students face many social issues because their families are facing higher rates of unemployment. Despite these difficulties, my students are hopeful and full of life.
