Currently my students only have the option of reading on the hard floor or at their desks. The flex seating and kidney table I have requested will allow for my students to make a decision on where they want to sit, which will help my students be more engaged throughout the day. These resources will make a difference for my students because they will allow my students to have a place with me in my classroom to work in small groups for reading. In my district, students’ math and reading scores are very low, so having a designated place to work with all my students will hopefully increase their reading and math scores. Currently, I do not have enough furniture in my classroom to have my students read in small groups. The small reading and writing groups that we are currently doing on the floor are important in order to help my students grow as readers and become on grade level in their reading.
