These books will help me build a classroom library for my students to participate in weekly sustained silent reading time. SSR provides students with structured independent reading opportunities with the goal of building fluency and vocabulary, broadening knowledge in content areas, and motivating further independent reading! As a first year teacher, I will be depending on donations and thrifting to build a classroom library. Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to find reading books at various independent reading levels for 2nd grade through strictly donations and thrift store shopping! The materials funded by your donations will go directly to the kids and will provide them with daily independent reading materials.
