For the upcoming school year I will need a variety of hands-on materials to have students grasp important foundational math concepts such as place value, addition, and subtraction. When students use manipulatives, it really helps them understand what they are doing. By donating to this project, you will help students improve their understanding of math as well as increase their focus and attention in class. Students simply learn better by doing, and these items will help them participate in the math experience. I have asked for a combination of base-ten blocks, number charts, and counters. These materials will be excellent for a wide variety of practice with place value, counting, as well as building addition and subtraction fluency. Using manipulatives also helps make math fun!
