The students in my first grade classroom have traditionally struggled with lots of sensory issues, focus, and self-control. They often have a lot of nervous energy and anxiety. Many are homeless and come from low-income homes. Some are foster kids who struggle with serious trauma. The traditional classrooms do not offer furniture and seating choices that accommodate these challenges. These flexible seating accommodations will provide a world of difference for children’s comfort in the classroom! Students will be sent the message that their needs are important and they’re cared for!
