Art is an important way in which children interpret the world. It can can act as a universal language for emergent readers or those struggling with proficiency. As the media technician, my hope is to create a collaborative and communicative environment where risk-taking is welcomed and experiential learning gives meaning to literature in unconventional ways. By integrating art into literature, I hope to motivate students academically and socially in a school that deeply values equity. I want my students to know that their beliefs and imaginings are worthy of pursuing.
