This year, students will be participating in a fun and passion based summer school. In my class, they will be forming book clubs with books that have BIPOC and LGBTQ representation. My goal is help them connect current events, literature and social justice in a fun but also important way. We will be exploring themes, messages and creating a variety of hands on projects! My goal is that they will take about a love of literacy but also get to explore books that they might not in a regular classroom setting.
