The books on the list have a wide range of topics and titles that will interest my students in reading. COVID-19 has had a huge impact on students' reading abilities and my students have shown great progress so far with what we have for a classroom library, but these additional books that have ties to STEAM and SEL would further spark their interest and hopefully a passion for reading. The more books the students have available, the more opportunities they have to broaden their knowledge and passion for reading and learning. Books provide students the opportunity to imagine and become a part of the story they are reading. They can travel the world or time just by opening a book. I want them to have options within our class library to find something they can relate to and/or interest them.
