These new sensory items will help my students with their sensory regulation, self-regulation and emotional regulation. These areas relate to my students’ ability to increase and decrease their alertness, or arousal, to match the situation or environment during the school day. My students are unable to regulate these areas on their own and desperately depend on outside sources to help them. When my students are not regulated they struggle to focus and learn. These new sensory items are imperative to my students’ educational program and will allow them to grow, learn and make progress on their IEP goals.
