We are collecting donations to support a revitalization project for our school green space in North Philadelphia. Our school is a K-8 Title I school that is located in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood. We have approximately 450 students, and the majority of our students live below the poverty line. For years, our school community has been dreaming of a garden that nurtures the physical, mental, and educational well-being of our students. Faculty and staff have come together to make this vision a reality in our center atrium, a space that the majority of our classrooms face. We have prepared the soil for planting, restored existing furniture, and constructed pathways for the school community to enjoy. In the fall, we will plant native flowers and shrubs that will attract birds, butterflies, and other pollinators, transforming the space into an educational ecosystem for our students. This project is an opportunity to create a green space that facilitates outdoor learning and school community building. Please consider helping us to bring beauty into the heart of our school!
