As a new teacher, I will use these materials, and many more, to support my students as they encounter literacy and math hands-on. With literacy being my primary focus, I will foster an environment in which students can begin to experience the direct connection between letter names and their corresponding sounds. These materials will provide an environment of discovery, with systematic and intentional instruction coupled with real-world connections. Utilizing such supplies and materials as these will allow me to bridge the gap between what is unknown for my students and that which they will know with confidence.
