These books will allow many different students to read the fifteen books for the Battle of the Books. These books will be checked out by students to read at home and then they will be able to discuss with other students reading the same books. Because all the books are longer chapter books, it is difficult to have all the students read the books before the competition with only a copy or two of each book. With your help, more students will be able to be involved and be exposed to a wide variety of books. A couple of these books are the beginning of series which is a great way to promote reading. These books have diverse topics which some students will be able to identify. The reading of these books will expose students to difficult cultures and extensive vocabulary. With the expose of these books by the students involved in the competition, many other students will become interested to read these books, too
