This novel will be the facilitator to several conversations; tragedy, tragic characters and tragic flaws. It will cause students to evaluate the triangular trade system between Britain, Africa and the United States. It will cause students to question the morality of such an arrangement while at the same time, expose students to an array of African culture through the sites, sounds, and traditions spoken to us through Chinua Achebe's literature. It will help some students identify with the protagonist and others empathize and grow in cultural awareness and become less ethnocentric in their views.

About my class
