My students need a new rug to provide an inclusive environment for learning and play to take place. This rug would be used for group activities, stories, and our many class meetings. In addition to providing an inclusive environment for learning to be optimized, students would also have their own space on the rug, allowing them to feel a sense of belonging and safety within our classroom. Students become easily distracted and often feel disconnected when sitting at their desks or tables, making learning more difficult and distracting to others. A new colorful, yet multifunctional, rug would brighten our classroom environment and make learning meaningful while building relationships among students. The individual spaces on the rug will help them learn about personal space, too! The spaces will ensure students feel safe, important, and have a sense of belonging in our classroom community!
