Any good artist knows that the best way to express themselves comes from using a mix of methods and mediums. But right now, the only medium available to my students is a computer screen. Help me bring back traditional art techniques into my Commercial Art classroom by providing professional art supplies for my students. You will not only be empowering them to hone in on their creativity, but alleviating the burden for some families with low incomes, unable to splurge on these types of supplies. Everyday I'm training up groups of young artists, eager to learn how to build portfolios for careers in the creative industry. And while their computer work is important, I feel they are missing out on fundamental art skills necessary to the profession due to lack of funding. By providing these supplies, you are giving a student the chance to advance into a young professional artist with skills to serve them a lifetime.
