I teach a self-contained classroom of 12 students with three paraeducators and myself. I have these students from 9th grade to the age of 21+. The students that are within my classroom community have been diagnosed with multiply disabilities and some of the students are on the Autism Spectrum. I teach all core Life Skills subjects. All lessons are taught in the whole group setting and then students work within small groups. My students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom. I want to provided my students with the best learning technology experiences that they would have out in the real world. They require a lot of hands-on and interactive learning to fully understand the life skills that are being taught. This is why integrating the iPads within the classroom is essential to the success of my students. The iPads will help to engage the students in new and exciting academic content. These iPads will help my students be ready for the 21st century workplace and daily life.
