I am requesting eight wall-mounted white boards to foster collaborative math teams to explore financial literacy and social justice projects. We are returning to in-person classes for all students in the fall after remote-learning and hybrid lessons.
By creating a classroom filled with Vertical Non-Permanent Surfaces (whiteboards), I will be able to see what all students are doing as they collaborate in small groups. A change to how we approach learning math is necessary to help fill in learning gaps made worse from COVID. My middle school students are keen to learn about what is happening in the world and how it impacts them now.
With these wall-mounted whiteboards, all students will be able to work on math in small groups in a judgement free space as no one is at the front of the class anymore. Students can collaborate and build foundational skills that apply directly to Civics lessons happening today. Help us come back together, explore possibilities for our future and achieve our dreams.
